Wooley's Memorial

In Memory of our "Beast".

During construction of the shed mentioned in this months article. One of our family , tragically lost his battle with cancer. Our beloved friend and companion of nine years. Wooly Beast McDermutt was laid to rest in a shady grove near the creek he loved to play in. The first stop on one of the walking trails we will be cutting on our property. The first member of our family to move to our new home. With your indulgence I’d like to write here what is planned for the sign that is to be placed at his grove.

“My name is Wooly Beast. Come sit with me here in my shade. You don’t need to stay long, or say anything. Just sit quietly if you’d like. Like I used to sit quietly at the feet of my family. Feel the love that still surrounds me, and emanates from me. As it did when I played in these woods .

This creek was my favorite spot. I used to chase fish here. I never caught one. I just liked to herd them. I know your eager to go walk and enjoy my woods.. My spirit will walk with you, if you’ll allow. We can feel the warmth of the sun and listen to birds together.

Come. There's much to see”.
